My name is Joe Jones, I have been a hairstylist for over 25 years.

I started my career at Sean Hanna as a Saturday girl and continued my career with them for 15 years. I have always been extremely passionate about hairdressing, but even more than that I have always been passionate about working with people and making them feel good about themselves.

To me, being a hairstylist is more than just cutting someone’s hair or applying colour, it’s that feeling of self-confidence and self-belief that you can give someone.

Throughout my career I have been a L’Oréal colour trophy finalist and came 2nd at L’Oréal’s Talent spotting competition. I have worked on hair for the stage show of the British hairdressing awards and also have worked at hair shows in both Spain and Paris as part of the Sean Hanna art team.

After I left Sean Hanna I opened my own salon in Kingswood which I had for 8 years. The Salon was hugely successful with a High profile client base. It was a difficult decision to sell that business as it was thriving but I still felt there was another area of my industry that I wanted to explore.

I became really interested in finding out what people were using to colour their hair instead of going to a salon. The home hair colour industry is huge, millions of people are buying colour from the high street and putting it on their hair.

When I looked into this more and started using social media to talk about it, my inbox was full of questions from people about using home hair colour products.

It soon became apparent how much was going wrong for people when colouring their hair at home!

Obviously, as hairstylists we are trained to understand how these colours work and it takes years to understand. So I decided that for a period of time I would only use home hair colours on my hair (as I couldn’t advise people in products that I had never used myself).

To my surprise, the products were actually really good despite always being told by my industry that home hair colour was shit. The problem was that the people buying it, didn’t understand how to use it properly!

This is where the idea came to me....

At this point I felt it was my responsibility to give as much advice as I could to people colouring their hair at home.

I decided to focus my social media content on this and set up a membership where I could be your own personal online hairstylist, providing advice, tutorials etc. The membership was a big success, especially during lockdown/COVID and the demand for help was high.

Today....

In 2021 I decided that although I loved working from my garden salon I really missed owning my own salon, working with others etc, so in August 2021 this became a reality and I opened my new salon in Burgh Heath, Surrey. I spent a lot of time designing the interior so that it reflected my personality and was a lovely, welcoming space for clients.

I still offer video consultations for clients, so if you are too far away to visit my salon or would like to have the confidence to tell your own hairstylist what you want done, or if you want to do it yourself at home book a video call with me.

I have also now launches my own product range and I am also very proud to say they are paraben free, sulphate free and animal friendly. All products are available both in the salon and on the online shop.

Hair is the easiest way to change your image.

I want to take the fear out of what to do with your hair, I want to celebrate change, build confidence and help you to find your unique self.

This is a new journey and I really want you to be part of this !

Love Joe x
